Elon learned early on there was more to life than what he had been taught while growing up.  It put him on a quest. One for knowledge and understanding through experience. Security was confining he kept saying while he traveled, as the unsureness of a life backpacking around the world seemed made to order. For life in the Pacific island of Taiwan enticed him. A country that spoke a language he would never understand, one with an exotic history and culture, where he found himself broke and needing a job, and surviving a near death experience. But nothing enticed him like meeting a Belgian model named Brigitte, a survivor herself. Their experiences together seemed a destiny. 'I will survive' was the life they took for granted.
